For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. Satellite imagery indicates that a low pressure area has formed
about 700 miles southwest of the Azores and that the associated
shower activity shows signs of organization. Environmental
conditions are expected to be conducive for some additional
development, and the system could gradually acquire subtropical
characteristics by the middle of next week while it moves slowly
northeastward.
