Disaster Recovery Center in Newton County Transitions to SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center

AUSTIN, Texas – To continue meeting the needs of Texas businesses and residents affected by Hurricane Harvey, a State of Texas/Federal Disaster Recovery Center in the city of Orange will transition to a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) starting 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4.

The DLOC will operate at this location:

Deweyville Senior Center
43435 State Hwy. 87 S
Orange TX 77614
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m to 6 p.m.

SBA representatives at this DLOC, as well as all of the federal/state Disaster Recovery Centers, SBA Business Recovery Centers and SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Centers located throughout the disaster area will continue to meet with business owners, homeowners and renters to help them with the disaster loan application process and close their approved loans.  For additional information or to find a location near you call SBA at (800) 659-2955, visit www.sba.gov/disaster, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. Businesses of all sizes and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets. The SBA can also lend additional funds to help businesses and residents with the cost of making improvements that protect, prevent or minimize the same type of disaster damage from occurring in the future.

For small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations of all sizes, SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. Economic injury assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any property damage.

Disaster loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace their damaged or destroyed primary residence. Homeowners and renters are eligible for up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.
