Significant Events: Hurricane Florence

Tropical Activity:
• Atlantic – Hurricane Florence (CAT 1); Tropical Storm Helene; Tropical Depression Isaac; Subtropical Storm Joyce;
  Disturbance 1: Low (20%); Disturbance 2: Low (10%)

• Eastern Pacific –  Disturbance 1: Medium (60%)
• Central Pacific – Tropical Depression Olivia
• Western Pacific – No activity affecting U.S. interests

Significant Weather:
• Strong to severe thunderstorms with a few tornadoes possible across eastern NC
• Heavy rain with flooding / flash flooding and storm surge possible – Southern TX and the Carolinas to Mid-Atlantic
• Critical / Elevated Fire Weather – CA, NV, AZ, UT, CO, WY, MT, ID, & WA
• Red Flag Warnings – AZ, NV, UT, CO, WY, & ID

Declaration Activity:
• Major Disaster Declaration request – North Carolina
