Federal Disaster Assistance for Texas Renters, Too

AUSTIN, Texas – Renters in Texas counties whose homes and property were damaged during Tropical Storm Imelda may be eligible for federal disaster assistance. Aid is available to residents of Chambers, Harris, Jefferson, Liberty, Montgomery, Orange and San Jacinto counties, who incurred losses from Sept. 17-23.  There are federal grants that can help pay for temporary housing. AUSTIN, Texas – Disaster survivors affected by the severe storms and floods from Tropical Storm Imelda on Sept. 17-23, can visit local home improvement stores in Dayton and Nederland to get rebuilding tips from mitigation experts. Disaster Recovery Center Opening in Liberty County

AUSTIN, Texas – A Disaster Recovery Center will open Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Liberty County to help disaster survivors affected by Tropical Storm Imelda.  Recovery specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration, state and federal agencies will be at the center to answer questions about disaster assistance and low-interest disaster loans. San Jacinto Added to Disaster Declaration for Tropical Storm Imelda

AUSTIN, Texas – San Jacinto County has been designated for disaster assistance as part of Texas’s federal disaster declaration for severe storms and flooding that occurred Sept. 17-23. Survivors of Tropical Storm Imelda may now register for assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). This announcement brings the total number of counties designated for Individual Assistance to seven with today’s addition.
