LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas residents living in counties near the Missouri border may visit a state/FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Missouri to get help registering for disaster assistance for storm damage occurring between April 26 and May 19.Recovery centers are operating in Washington, Randolph and Lawrence counties in Arkansas, but residents of Benton, Carroll, Boone, Fulton, Randolph and Clay counties may live closer to Carter, Howell, Oregon, Ozark or Stone counties in Missouri.The schedule for the centers in both states is as follows:MissouriCarter CountyVan Buren Youth and Community Center1204 Hwy....

Flood Recovery Reaches Milestone: 1,001 Households Transition into Long-Term

BATON ROUGE, La. — More than 1,000 households have made strides in their recovery and moved out of FEMA Manufactured Housing Units (MHUs) to more permanent housing. At the height of the housing program after the August 2016 flood, more than 4,600 eligible households were licensed into MHUs.East Baton Rouge, Livingston and Ascension parishes account for a majority of households in MHUs. FEMA Approves $1.8 Million in Aid to Department of Public Safety

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Department of Public Safety (Louisiana State Police) will receive $1.8 million in federal assistance for emergency protective measures taken to ensure the public’s safety following the August 2016 floods. Eligible costs of disaster-related services, including search and rescue operations, emergency escorts, traffic control, evacuation and first responder operations, will be reimbursed with this grant. Funding is obligated through FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program.
