Disaster Recovery Center Opening in Liberty County

AUSTIN, Texas – A Disaster Recovery Center will open Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Liberty County to help disaster survivors affected by Tropical Storm Imelda.  Recovery specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration, state and federal agencies will be at the center to answer questions about disaster assistance and low-interest disaster loans. AUSTIN, Texas – Disaster survivors affected by the severe storms and floods from Tropical Storm Imelda on Sept. 17-23, can visit local home improvement stores in Kingwood and Orange to get rebuilding tips from mitigation experts. San Jacinto Added to Disaster Declaration for Tropical Storm Imelda

AUSTIN, Texas – San Jacinto County has been designated for disaster assistance as part of Texas’s federal disaster declaration for severe storms and flooding that occurred Sept. 17-23. Survivors of Tropical Storm Imelda may now register for assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). This announcement brings the total number of counties designated for Individual Assistance to seven with today’s addition. What to Expect During a FEMA Housing Inspection

AUSTIN, Texas – After applying for federal disaster assistance for damages incurred during Tropical Storm Imelda, qualified residents in Chambers, Harris, Jefferson, Liberty, Montgomery and Orange counties will receive a call from a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) housing inspector as the next step in the recovery process. The inspector will schedule an appointment seven to 10 days after registration.
