Temporary housing unit occupants should make a plan to rent or buy

AUSTIN, Texas — Hurricane Harvey survivors living in temporary housing units (THUs) provided by FEMA and the Texas General Land Office (GLO) need to solidify their housing plans leading into Feb. 25.  Those who continue to meet FEMA eligibility requirements may be approved to remain in their current THU through Aug. 25 by paying rent. FEMA grants $13.6 million to the Texas Health and Human Services

AUSTIN, Texas — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded more than $13.6 million to Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) following Hurricane Harvey.  The two grants provide funding for emergency ice and water distribution as well as a shelter for disaster survivors in Port Arthur. The shelter operations at the Port Arthur Civic Center cost more than $2.6 million. FEMA grants more than $1.1 million to the Texas Department of Transportation

AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded more than $1.1 million to reimburse the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for housing employees in the Beaumont area following Hurricane Harvey.  Because of the shortage of lodging in the area, TxDOT activated a pre-existing contract with Callan Marine to house TxDOT employees who helped control traffic and clear debris from the roadway.
