SANTA FE, New Mexico — FEMA Mitigation experts are available at Home Depot in Roswell, through Saturday, Dec. 21, to offer free advice and tips on how to rebuild stronger and safer against disasters. Volunteer and Donate Recovery can take many years after a disaster. There are many ways to help such as donating cash, needed items or your time. Learn more about how to help those in need. Don’t self-deploy to disaster areas. Trusted organizations in the affected areas know where volunteers are needed. Work with an established organization to make sure you have the appropriate safety, training and skills needed to respond. Appealing FEMA’s Decision on Your Application

If you received a letter from FEMA saying that the information you provided is incomplete, you are ineligible for disaster assistance, or you disagree with the amount of FEMA assistance determined, you have the right to appeal the decision within 60 days of the date on the letter. All appeals are reviewed. Decisions may take up to 90 days. Additional information may be requested from you if FEMA does not have enough information to make a decision.
