ZCZC MIATWOEP ALL TTAA00 KNHC DDHHMM Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 500 AM PDT Thu Aug 3 2023 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Dora, located several hundred miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula. 1. Off the coast of Southern Mexico: A broad area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms located several hundred miles south of the coast of southern Mexico is associated with a tropical wave. An area of low pressure is expected to develop from this feature during the next day or two, and environmental conditions appear conducive for development of this system. A tropical depression is likely to form over the weekend as it moves west-northwestward or northwestward, parallel to but not far offshore of the southwestern coast of Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...high...70 percent.
