Recovery Funds Continue to Flow to East Baton Rouge Schools

BATON ROUGE, La. — FEMA has approved an additional $1.1 million for flood recovery efforts of schools in East Baton Rouge.Disaster funding will help the Runnels School with reimbursements for damaged equipment and contents. Runnels is the oldest private school in Baton Rouge. Items eligible for replacement include: desks, bookshelves, supplies, musical instruments and electronic and athletic equipment.During the August floods, 16 school campuses throughout the parish flooded. BATON ROUGE, La. — FEMA recently announced more than $1 million in a federal grant for debris removal for the City of Central in East Baton Rouge Parish. This now represents more than $6 million in federal reimbursements for debris removal in that city.For the August flooding, FEMA’s Public Assistance program continues to reimburse eligible Louisiana jurisdictions for reasonable costs involved in debris removal.
